MISSION STATEMENT
L2’s Global Preparedness & Security Division (GP&SD) provides world class training, HSEEP based exercises, program management and facilitation, consulting services, and guest speaker engagements that focus on preparedness and response for local, state, tribal, federal, and international stakeholders. These services are targeted to Prevent, Mitigate, Prepare For, Respond To and Recover from Natural, Technological and Human-Caused Incidents along with local and National Special Security Events. The L2 GP&SD team provides expertise as instructors, educators, advisors, and consultants across the Preparedness and Security disciplines.
OUR SERVICES
Cyber Security Exercise Operations
The L2 cyber security team consists of world renowned subject matter experts who bring their knowledge, skills and experience to the exercise world to create realistic and challenging exercises. The L2 team leverages a partnership with one of the foremost Cyber Ranges in the United States, with virtual reality capabilities and advanced geospatial intelligence and modeling capabilities. Certifications include recognized as Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) , CompTOA Security +, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), amongst others.
Certified Emergency Managers
L2 (L2Defense) has a team of Certified Emergency Managers (CEM) with real-world deployment experience to major incidents across the Globe. L2 can provide EOC, IMT, and US&R IST support. L2 maintains a cadre of world-renowned Emergency Management instructor-trainers certified to teach state and federal Emergency Management, ICS, and IMT courses. Our instructors did not just read the book, in many cases, they wrote the books/courses and have documented real-world experiences. L2 has a cadre of FAA Part 107 sUAS licensed pilots and flight instructors with Basic & Advanced Flight experience and advanced sensor capabilities (optical, thermal, HAZMAT, RAD, etc.)
Tactical Medical Care and Training and Exercises
L2 provides training, certification, and fielding of teams at the Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support and Tactical Medicine levels. This training includes Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC). All courses are taught by instructors with extensive military and/or public safety experience. L2 GP&SD has a licensed Medical Director with austere environment experience. L2 supports the USAF Ready Eagle 2, global expeditionary medical program with SMEs.Â
SWAT/ERT
L2 provides law enforcement training and full-scale exercises to local, state, and federal agencies and Urban Area Security Initiatives (UASI). Training is provided by experienced SWAT/ERT team leaders and operators from experienced law enforcement agencies across the United States. Classes include Tactical Carbine, Tactical Rappel Master, Night Vision/Low Light, and Optical Sight Transition, amongst others.Â
EOD/Bomb Technician training and exercises
L2 provides nationally recognized training in the field of Hazardous Devices including Bomb Technician training. Taught by experienced military and civilian Hazardous Devices Technicians (Bomb Techs). Classes include Explosive Breaching, Render Safe, Advanced Electronics, EOD-SWAT Tactical Integration, and Joint Hazardous Response Team (JHERT/JHAT) amongst others.Â
Master Exercise Practitioners
L2 has a cadre of FEMA-trained and certified Master Exercise Practitioners (MEP) who oversee and manage discussion and operations-based exercises. L2 specializes in large-scale civilian and military exercises for the Homeland. L2 has supported the annual three-weeklong DoD Northern Command’s Guardian Response CBRN Full-Scale Exercise for the past 10 years providing 150 SMEs deployed to coordinate 4,000 military, civilian, local, state, and federal responders, amongst others.Â
WMD/Hazardous Materials Training and Exercise
L2 provides world-class Hazardous Materials/CBRNE/WMD, Confined Space Rescue, Awareness, Operations, and Technician Level Training. Specialized classes include Meters and Monitoring, Sight Characterization, CBRNE threat and response planning, and advanced training for Securing-the-Cities Radiological Preparedness.Â
Preventative Radiological Nuclear Detection (PRND) Training and Exercises
The L2 Defense PRND training cadre draws from tier one professionals from law enforcement, firefighters, emergency managers, radiological and nuclear subject matter experts, emergency medical services, health care first receivers, Civil Support Team (CST) personnel, and drawing from our extensive military experience. Our cadre has helped to design, develop and facilitate PRND training and operations around the globe for decades and are at the leading edge of the discipline.
Master Continuity Professionals
L2 has a team of trained and certified Master Continuity Professionals (MCP) and Certified Business Continuity Practitioner (CBCP) SMEs that provide support for local, state, federal, and military Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Continuity of Government (COG) in the classified and unclassified space.Â
Telecommunications
L2 has a team of telecommunications professionals each with years of experience in the design, installation, and operation of US Government and military systems, state and local government public safety systems, and volunteer first responder systems that require reliable and resilient voice and data networks to conduct their safety of life missions effectively. L2 also has certified instructors necessary to train Communications Unit Leaders (COML), Communications Technicians (COMT), Radio Operators, and other support personnel to better utilize their own communications systems and equipment.
Law Enforcement
The L2 law enforcement training cadre consists of personnel from across local, county state and federal agencies and range from command staff to line officers. We bring real world, hands on law enforcement training that is relevant in todays world. Our trainers have participated in the training and preparation for National Special Security Events across the United States and have supported partner nations across the globe.
Special Operations
Our Special Operations cadre comes from current and retired law enforcement and military personnel serving in Tier 1 teams as trainers and operators. We take best practices and lessons learned to help improve the planning and response capabilities during critical incidents to include Joint Hazard Assessment Team (JHAT) operations.
EMS/Healthcare
Our EMS and healthcare professionals come from across the medical spectrum ranging from Medical Doctors working in austere environments and as first receivers in hospitals to the Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic working on the streets and wilderness environments for search and rescue. Our cadre provides everything from ACLS to Tactical Emergency Combat Casualty Care courses.
OUR TEAM
The L2 GP&SD team is comprised of seasoned professionals with real world global experience in Emergency and Crisis Preparedness and Management, Fire-Rescue, Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Public Health, Homeland Security and Preventative Radiological and Nuclear Detection (PRND) operations. Â
The L2 GP&SD team incorporates decades of real-world experience with nationally and internationally recognized training, certifications and accreditations to further enhance the services that are provided. In many cases our team didn’t read a book on how to do something, but they wrote the book.
