Sam Lennon

President
and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Sam Lennon has more than 25 years of diversified experience in the engineering, management, manufacturing, deployment, and sustainment of innovative technologies, complex equipment systems, and technical subject matter expertise. His work has led to steadily increasing levels of responsibilities, currently capped by his position as the President and CEO or L2 Defense, Inc. With a passion for people, teamwork, and doing what’s right for the customer, Mr. Lennon has lead L2’s growth to be a leading service provider for our Nations’ Military and first responder communities.

Prior to L2 Defense, Mr. Lennon was a key leader at FLIR Systems (joined ICx Technologies prior to its acquisition by FLIR), a company focused on providing next generation sensor and command & control solutions for military and first responder operations. He served as FLIR’s Director of Integrated Systems for Government Programs with the responsibility of integrating the many FLIR products into comprehensive solution sets for Federal, State, and Foreign Government customers. While at FLIR, Mr. Lennon capture-managed, won, and program managed multiple large Government contracts in the CBRNE Defense, wide area surveillance, and force protection program areas.

Before his time at FLIR, Mr. Lennon held key technical and managerial positions as a Civilian DoD employee with the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD), the Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC), and the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren – Chemical and Biological Defense Division. In these roles, he provided acquisition program strategy expertise, project management, technology evaluation, and technology transition leadership. Through his experience across these three organizations, Mr. Lennon gained a vast network of DoD and industry contacts, an intimate understanding of Defense Acquisition in the CBRN Defense Program space, and a true understanding of CBRNE Defense technologies and concepts of operations. For his final position as a DoD civilian, Mr. Lennon served on Major General’s staff at the JPEO-CBD, leading acquisition strategies and technology evaluations for key CBRN detection and protection related programs.

Mr. Lennon’s early career focused in telecommunications product engineering and production. He held engineering, manufacturing, and product management positions with Corning, Inc. and Lucent Technologies that spanned his first seven years of post-college work history. His work in the telecom industry gave him great experiences in large capital equipment design, domestic and international project engineering, high-tech product development, and lean six-sigma implementation.

Mr. Lennon holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, has completed graduate courses for Systems Engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and Pennsylvania State University, and is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Mr. Lennon is also Defense Acquisition University trained in Defense Acquisition Systems Engineering and Program Management.

Mr. Lennon is actively engaged in his community with frequent volunteer efforts and dedicated service through his Board of Director memberships.
